DIY Ombre

Hola Gorgeous!
DIY Ombre!!!!

I have been wanting to do this to my hair since Pinterest got flooded with the images. I have been playing it safe for the past 3yrs and I finally decided to go ahead and do it. Yes, I'm currently prego and some may warn against coloring your hair. I normally wouldn't myself and I'm not saying throw caution to the wind but I dare you to try and stop a pregnant woman when her mind is set. So, any negative comments you can keep to yourself. Thanks :)

Before:
(Don't you just love makeup!)

I used Loreals Ombre in a box for Brunettes and simply followed the directions.

I applied the mixture from the bottom up.

Once I reached the top I applied it at an angle and added more mixture from bottom to top as needed, waiting the 45min. Once I had it all washed out and partially dried, I added leave-in conditioner because my hair was horribly unmanageable.

I personally love how my hair turned out and I've gotton lots of compliments and have even fooled people into thinking I got it done in a salon. Hey! I also love how it warmed up my complexion. If your thinking of trying your own DIY Ombre look I'd say go for it, its easier than you might think and at $10/box your definitely saving mula. Waddya think? Would you try this DIY?

How To: Stay Sane As A SAHM

It is such a priveledge to be a SAHM. Believe me, I know! When my lil Superhero was born, I was not so lucky. I worked like crazy to be able to provide for my lil man. I would spoil him to make up for the fact that I missed everything. I beat myself up about it to no end until I realized at that time I had no other option, I was a Single Mama and I did what I had to. Now, you will hear from all the other SAHM out there what a joy it is and that they love every minute, and from the outside it seems like the ideal or perfect life. Well, I will let you in on a little secret: It's not so perfect! If you are contemplating staying home, and I'm sure you've been weighing out the pros and cons already, I have a lil friendly advice for you.

Routine! Routine! Routine!
At first, you will enjoy lounging in ur sweats not having anything to do. Putting the to do list off and cuddling up to your Bebe. You may let yourself go a lil bit. Don't fret I did too. Im talking pjs all day, dragon breath, and unshaved legs for weeks. And while thats all fine and dandy, if you keep that routine up you will notice a decline in your self esteem and an onset of baby blues. Once you've had your fill of that routine, here's what I recommend:

  • Wake up before the babies 10-30min, whatever works for you, to give yourself time to wash up and have a cup of cafe or tea and start breakfast.
  • Find a daily routine that works for your familia and stick to it! Keep in mind children also need that structure, the regularly scheduled nap time/bed time/lunch/dinner. Happy Bebes=Happy Mama!
  • Establish a cleaning routine you can manage and not more than you can handle. Need help? Check out Pinterest for ideas. Lil ones have a tendency to leave a mess everywhere. What works for me: Try to keep toys and books to a designated area, keep your grown up space grown up. Keep a basket to pick up out of place items at the end of the day and put items in their place. Try to keep organized, Bebes learn from us and try to teach early on 1 toy at a time & to put their toys away.
  • Give yourself "Me Time", 30min to 1hr everyday! Read a book, take up a hobby, exercise, whatever makes you happy. You will be a much happier wife and mama when you recharge your own batteries. Believe me!
  • Don't forget your Hubby! He needs your attention too. Its as simple as being happy he's home and greeting him at the door with a kiss. It may sound a lil 50's housewife but it really is nice and keeps the spark lit if ya know what I mean(wink, wink).
  • And, last but not least, give yourself a break. Motherhood is not about perfection. As in all things you learn as you go, you become smarter with mistakes, and as long as you try to do your best you are succeeding. Give that Bebe love and time and in that Bebes eyes you will be the best mom in the world. Take others opinions and unwanted advice as a grain of salt. Don't forget to enjoy the moments because time flies and in a blink they grow so fast.
Hope my lil tips help and I wish you the best on the "Hardest Job You"ll Ever Love"!

Feliz Dia de Las Madres (Mexican Mothers Day)

Feliz Dia de Las Madres to all my Mexican Mamis out there!

Becoming a Mama changed my life forever and has been the greatest gift. It has given me the most fulfilling joy, love, and purpose. It has taught me patience, sensitivity, and understanding. Given me strength I never knew I posessed. All my hopes and dreams are carried within my beautiful Bebes. They are my miracle and my piece of Heaven on Earth

You are my child, and the meaning of
that bond between us is boundless.
It means placing your comfort before my own.
It means trying my best every moment of
every day to shelter you from harm.
It means worrying endlessly, and sometimes
needlessly, about you and everything that
enters your life.
It means wanting only the best for you, and
aching inside at those times when things
go wrong.
It means giving you all that I have to give
and feeling your special love fill my
heart more deeply than I ever imagined.
It means loving you without reserve, and
with all that I am, for the rest of my life.

Babies & Bumps: Gifting Pt. 2

As a second time mama, my gorgeous Hermana already had all the necessities. I wanted to give her some items for organizing and a few items you can never have enough of.

I grabbed 2 baskets she could use matching her home and nursery decor while giving her extra storage for all the lil Bebe must haves. One I found on clearance at Ross for $3 and the other was only $10. Next, I picked up blue kids hangers from Walmart at 10/$1 and picked up 4. I stacked those on the bottom of the basket as a basket filler. My Hermana wants to breastfeed so I picked her up a nursing cover, a must! No peep shows my friends :). Extra crib sheets, towels, wash cloths, and mittens and booties are always a good idea for baby showers. I love swaddlers for my babies and they had a lightweight, mesh material good for spring and summer. I shopped Ross, Marshalls is also a good choice to get more bang for your buck. I checked out her registry and found similar items to what she wanted. Remember, you can never go wrong with diapers, wipes, bathing sets, clothes, blankets, and gift cards.

Don't you just love gift baskets? It makes even a simple gift more luxurious.
