How To: Fake Domestic Perfection

  Hola Gorgeous!
How are ya this lovely day? I have been a raging clean freak as I am sure Lil will be gracing us sooner than we thought. Now, I will be honest, I can be quite messy at times. I am such a contradiction. I would love to say I'm the Latina Martha Stewart but, truth be told, I'm nowhere near that amount of domestic perfection. I am learning though so I thought I'd share a few things that have me looking like a "Domestic Goddess" which is no easy feat.

Cleaning Schedule
I found a few I liked on Pinterest and reworked them to my own needs and schedule. Find what works for you. I have a small casa over run with Bebes and a not so clean Hubby so I prefer to deep clean as much as I can, especially our bathroom (since it's shared by a 5yr old boy, hard working man, and a 2yr old lil princess trying to potty train that gets into everything)! You may be able to get away with a once a month deep clean (I envy you!), don't feel the need to stretch yourself thin and be sure to schedule your free days.

In order to make sure I stick to the schedule, I printed out my schedule, framed it, and hung it on my fridge with magnets(a quick & easy DIY).

Here are a few I really liked:
Free Printable from Squirrelly Minds
Cleaning Schedule from Diary of a Moody Housewife
Cleaning Calendar from Bakerette

Gather Your Tools
I am fabulously frugal and try to be eco friendly so I shy away from disposable products like the Swiffer Cleaning Supplies and anything you have to repurchase. I am in love with the concept and ease of Swiffers products though, so I purchased tools with similar ease but that had a reuseable cloth.

If you are just starting out or want to streamline your Cleaning Routine,
I recommend:

I really like the Casabella brand. There is something for everyone and at different price points. From stores like Crate & Barrel to Ross, You can definitely stay on a budget using a product you can depend on. These are the items in my own tool basket so I know they work!

Cleaning Solutions
I am quite sensitive to the smell of cleaning products, not to mention, they can get a bit pricey. I tend to have my faves that I stick with and, when it comes to household cleaners, knockoffs rarely work as great. To save money and still get the name brands I like, I clip coupons. That is until I found my secret weapon! I will share this magic cleaning solution if you promise to try it yourself and share it with everyone you know....Do we have a deal?

"Secret Weapon"
Mix equal parts Dawn Dish Soap, Distilled White Vinegar, & Hot Water!
This can be used everywhere and anywhere, it seriously works better than anything else, and is super gentle on the nose.

You can find lots of great DIY Cleaning Products on Pinterest, if you haven't checked out my Better Housewife Board I recommend doing so only because I have so many great tips I've found all in one place.

My Fave DIY Cleaners can be found

Are you ready to glam up your Casa to a sparkling finish? Do you have any great tips or tricks to fake being a "Domestic Goddess"? I am in desperate need of an easier way to clean blinds so if you know how please share! Muchas Gracias!

D.I.Y Inspired Gender Reveal

My Inspiration

July is a super busy month for us. Holidays, Birthdays, and lots to celebrate in our lives with just moving and, of course, the upcoming birth of our Lils. I decided on a combined Housewarming/Gender Reveal(yup, I've been keeping it a secret. Quite amusing I might add). And, I wanted to put my D.I.Y skills to work to show you can have a Fabulous Party on a Minimal Budget.

I knew I wanted the colors very neutral since it was coed, and I didn't want it too girly, or any hint of Lil's gender(I enjoyed keeping everyone in suspense, maybe a lil too much) so I chose white, gold, and tan.

Decor I found on Pinterest:
Best Tissue Pom Tutorial by Design Dazzle
D.I.Y. Banner by Shanty to Chic
Glam Party Table by Paging Fun Mums
I saved a bundle on decor by D.I.Y'ing it myself but had a lil trouble finding a good tutorial for the Coffee Filter Pom and had a hell of a time finding tan coffee filters and simple tan tissue paper. I will share my own super easy tutorial for Coffee Filter Poms tomorrow.

Shower Games:
Both games played great into the whole Gender Reveal theme. It was so fun to hear people's opinions change based on the wives tales(half of which were totally wrong, at least in my case) and reading the bets. We made bets while I was in the hospital with Princessa so I loved the idea for the shower.

Chile Verde Enchiladas
Mexican Rice
Mama's Famous Chile
Watermelon, Strawberries, & Grapes Platter
It was very Mexican and completely what I crave. I swear I have the best cooks in my life, I'm a lucky girl. We didn't have sweets(I've got a case of gestational diabetes and didn't want any temptation) but it was hot and the fruit was so refreshing!

I will recreate the look for you Friday as I try to gather some pics. I somehow forgot, blaming it on baby brain :)

D.I.Y Bella ~ Luminous & Glowing

  Hola Beautiful!
Today, I thought I'd share one of my newest hobbies. I am a D.I.Y. kinda chica who loves to save money without sacrificing great quality. So, of course, I meddled in the D.I.Y makeup craze. Especially since I am obsessed with the results from ACV for my skin and I can't help but share with everyone I know. All my girls are glowing now, even my beautiful nieces starting to struggle with their skin.

What started it all:

My beautiful Princessa loves getting into my purse, especially my makeup. And, she must know Mami's favorites because they seem to be her main targets. By the way, this was her third attack and not only was it not in my budget to replace again but I was also being stubborn about not spending any of my extra money on things I don't need. And, so, Pinterest came to the rescue. I figured why not? If it turned out crappy, I didn't waste any money. But, if it turned out awesome, it would save me money in the long run.

1st Step:
Clean up what I could salvage

I love this recipe for cleaning my brushes!

2Nd Step:
Clean out some old canisters for the New D.I.Y Makeup
I simply wedged a small kitchen knife and facing away spread the pieces apart. Then I washed all the pieces out with my trusty Dawn Dish soap and let dry while I did....

3rd Step:
Scour Pinterest for recipes, gather ingredients, and Create!

This time I chose to go with face products I was out of:
D.I.Y Mineral Veil ~ 1Tbsp Cornstarch, 1/2Tsp Baby Powder. Mix well & Viola!
(The link on Pinterest isn't working :/ )

You can find these and many more on my Pinterest board DIY Bella.

4th Step:
Now for the fun part. Testing!
I used it on 4th of July and got soo many compliments. I love that its au naturale so its easy on my sensitive skin and I love how luminous and glowing I look. If your looking to try a D.I.Y Makeup I highly recommend these two.

Have you tried any great, life changing D.I.Y's? Please share :)

Have A Fabulous Day Gorgeous!!!!
